Bye, Arnold - Character sketch 01

A little treat, a character sketch sheet for Bye, Arnold, this one starring Arnold, Helga, and Gerald--with Miles and Stella guest starring! I varied the style only a bit, so it could still feel familiar.

Ah, and the art at the bottom left was an unfinished pic of Arnold and Helga. I was at a loss with this one so what the hey, let's slap it on here. Here's a few notes:

As mentioned in a Craig Bartlett interview, it would be pretty cool and suit nostalgia purposes for Helga to wear her pink bow under her hat.

Though not shown in this, Arnold has upgraded to an off brand mp3 player, but nothing beats the walkie talkie, as Arnold and Gerald communicate with them all the time.

Gerald, forever Mr. Cool, is the master in all sports, yet tries way too desperately to hide his little Phoebe problem. I wouldn't say he's Helga's brand of obsessive, but just the right amount to make you go "Awww!"

The family portrait was really fun. Aren't they all just so beautiful together? Parents Day would've been so unfair if they were there. Obviously the adventure seeking doctor-botanist-scientist pair would've whooped so much butt. I can't wait to add them in the comic.
